It is a phonetic lettering system. The word hiragana literally means "flowing" or "simple" kana ("simple" originally as contrasted with kanji)
There are two main systems of ordering hiragana and this poster represents more prevalent gojūon ordering.

Thick and strong material, perfect size—no pixelation, easy to see and read, and looks identical to the photo provided. I'm here simply to tell you that the quality of the material and print is 10/10. I’ve purchased similar items from other stores, but the quality was never this good. This has been the best by far, and I'll be ordering my Katakana poster this week! If you need a laugh—I actually meant to order the Katakana the first time since I can already read Hiragana. But if that tells you anything, I didn’t even ask for a refund or exchange because the quality was just that good. Hiragana will make a nice decoration, haha. Happy shopping!
